To Blog or Not to Blog…that is the question!
Now a day’s it is in fashion to do only what you love as your profession. I definitely want to follow suit but in a third-world country like ours, you have to keep your love as a side-line and try to amalgamate the two things- your love and compulsion to finally end up with something that satisfies you. I like to write and yes, I am working on my book (barely!) but writing can help you with lot of other things. Such as, it helps me write this blog that as of now, very few people read.
But there are few things that really put me off on the internet, such as a blog which carries almost no concrete content but only serves commercial purposes. There are certain blogs which boast of over 600,00 unique visitors per day and hardly have anything worthwhile. Although I am highly tempted to name a few of these dirt-blogs, I will resist.
A blog is indeed a great way to earn a good revenue sitting at home. This case is exceptional for me as I neither sit at home nor do I earn a good revenue. Why is the blog a great revenue generator? Okay, you get to put the Google Ads, true but now it’s too slow and too many other people are doing it. A blog with a huge traffic can always afford to advertise privately, I mean that blogs that have good traffic can lure private advertisers who pay more and in turn improve your return of investment. You can even end up endorsing a service which you, yourself might be able to provide which might be anything from advising on home-keeping to how to browse channels on the television (this was a joke!).
They always say that first get a good blog-following then think of the money. That is all that keeps me running as I keep chipping away on this blog day in and day out.
At the same time, I respect webmaster’s of blogs having a five-figure traffic each day and yet not having an inch of advertisement banner soil their page. It indeed requires superior levels of self-discipline or millions of dollars in their bank account. Whatever maybe the reason I refuse to call them dumb.
Therefore, it is highly advised that one blogs only if they are keenly interested and not in it purely for the monetary benefits, because even to acheive these benefits you need to work very hard on your blog and even then…it might not be enough.

The reason I started to blog was not financial but because I enjoy writing and would do more of it, if I had the time. There’s an ego aspect to it also. I love for people to read and leave comments about my posts. My favorite blogs to read are the humor blogs.
yeah, that is what really gives a high. When people read your hard written posts…
Wow! Five-figure traffic!
What a dream *dreams*
Leave five-figure…if I have five visitors it is a dream come true for me. Tho, it is getting bettr these days!
