If yes, you had better keep your thoughts to yourself, especially if you are in Malaysia. Men in Malaysia can face jail if they call their wife ugly. The governmental Women’s Development Department in Malaysia considers calling your wife as emotional suppressment and undermining them. The Women’s group wants to criminalize the act of calling one’s wife ugly and cause humiliation to them.
The main reason behind this new proposal is that 90 percent of some 800 women who called the Women’s Aid Organization for help last year reported psychological harassment.
The head of this women’s right department, Noorul Ainur Mohamad Nur said offenders include who “”tells his wife she is ugly or humiliates her until she feels emotionally pressured.”
Personally, I think this is just another weapon in the hands of women to frame their man. The man could have sentences in terms of counselling, fine and jailterm. This really is the pits! No, I don’t live in Malaysia- its all about brotherhood you know. It is true that some cases of emotional and physical abuse are genuine and there are also some that are not. The task is to eliminate them.
Many women can abuse this proposal if implemented without much thought. Physical violence atleast has proof in the terms if body scars and bruises but what about psychological abuse? It is not easy, rather impossible to determine if a women in harassed emotionally or not.
