Gay “Sex” Legalised in India?

Gay Right Activists
In a landmark ruling the Delhi High Court has decriminalised gay sex by striking down section 377 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). This historic judgement was made quoting Jawaharlal Nehru to emphasise that the Constitution guaranteed homosexuals rights equal to what other citizens enjoy. The 149-year old that made it illegal for gays to be intimate which each other has been ditched thereby marking a victory for assiduous gay right activists. Gay rights activists hugged, kissed and patted each other in ecstasy and tears rolled down their cheeks on hearing the Delhi High Court verdict legalising homosexuality among consenting adults.
The point that still nags me is the fact that all though homosexual have been given liberty for sex, when will gay marriages be legalized? It is now surely a wierd situation wherein gay sex is legalized but it is criminal to marry your partner.
Within hours of this ruling an UN agency stated that India has set an example for about 80 countries which still outlaw homosexual sex. Basically, it states that countries that still outlaw homosexual sex can now “use this as a precedent.” So I guess the ruling caught UN’s attention as well. Some of the countries that still consider it unlawful include Malaysia, Singapore, Bangladesh, and many Caribbean islands.
This is indeed a historic event because India was the country where the anti-sodomy laws were first statutorised…and the same law was then replicated all over the British Commonwealth.
