Avatar- Fun Facts!
Even though Avatar hasn’t hit the silver screen yet, the trailers have already left viewers with a huge list of questions. Lets try and get some answers.
1. BLUE ALIENS! Whhhhhhhy??
Whether you admit it or not, humans pay a lot of importance to skin colour. It’s what makes you immediately strike a cord with a person of the same colour in an unfamiliar place. James Cameron wanted to use that to his advantage. Shades of brown, white and black have already been bagged by the humans. Green happens to be the favourite colour that humans like to picture on aliens. So, to make ‘his’ aliens stand out, Cameron used blue.
2.A NEW LANGUAGE??
Yes, you heard that right. The Na’vi don’t just utter gibberish. It’s a language… freshly baked! James Cameron is a perfectionist remember?
3. BORN IN 2005!
The Na’vi were first sculpted in 2005 by Sculptor and concept artist Jordu Schell. After months of doing illustrations led Cameron nowhere, Schell sculpted Neytiri, the lead female protagonist.
