When I was first told about The Crazies, I thought it was a remake of the 1973 film by George A. Romero. But this movie I doubt is ever been as much fun. The film starts with a military plane carrying a biological weapon crashing in a town named Iowa. The people get infected by the biological weapon and hence they make a run for their lives.

The Crazies isn’t movie about zombies but somehow it more or less tends to be a zombie movie. The only difference is that here there is no faceless guy killing people, instead it is your own friends, relatives and others you know infected by the biological weapon causing them to act out of their minds. Such a kind of tragedy the level of emotion built into this zombie (and zombie-like)movie is heart taking. Well here there are no bad guys. Your relatives are the one who threaten you, try to kill them, etc etc. No love lost at the end, as usual. The infected could very well be your wife, friends or children. The survival aspect is that you will have to kill someof them to stop them from killing you, eating your brains, chewing your face off or lighting you on fire.

Good horror movies always relate well with their time period. Romero knows this. He has mixed horror with elements of social commentary. The Crazies is well paced and has earnedrespect of its predecessor. Rather than reinventing the genre, he has hit all the right note all at once. Not bad from the guy who made Sahara.

Johnny Depp or Jack Sparrow???

It has come to our ears that Johnny Depp aka Jack Sparrow wants The Pirate Of Caribbean Series to go on. The actor is amazed that he is able to work on something he loves so much and would be happy to reprise the role forever. ”I am eager to get back into my costume” he said speaking to the magazine. In his opinion the Caribbean series should never end. He even added that he was willingly ready to act for other forthcoming series as well.
The actor has been paid $31.5 million to appear in the Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. During the making of the first movie he realised that he was obessed with his character. No wonder the rumors are true that Johnny Depp has pirate blood in him. He was quoted saying that ”As filming winds down, you hear the clock ticking because you know you’re going to leave your character behind and a kind of odd separation anxiety kicks in. You get irritable and just sort of melancholy. That’s what happened to me when we wrapped the first ‘Pirates of the Caribbean.’ I realized I was going to miss Captain Jack.” Though Depp is doing the fourth sequence his co-stars from the other films Kiera Knightley, Orlando Bloom are not appearing in the forthcoming sequence.
