Movie Review- Percy Jackson and The Olympians: The Lightning Thief
Based on the book by Rick Riordan, Percy Jackson and The Olympians: The Lightning Thief, is reminiscent of Harry Potter. However, instead of wizards and magic, our hero Percy Jackson (Logan Lerman) finds himself in the midst of Greek mythology.
Percy is joined by his two young co-stars including Athena’s warrior-daughter Annabeth (Alexandria Daddario) on what is essentially a road trip to confront Hades. Along the way all kind of interesting adventures ensue where our young hero meets a variety of famous mythological figures including Uma Thurman who plays a stunning Medusa.
Although I was vaguely reminded of the story of Odysseus in Homer’s Odyssey it’s doubtful that the kids that this film is aimed at will make that connection, and nor should they. The mythological world of the Greek Gods is occasionally used as a movie backdrop and the figures, including Medusa and a Centaur, played by Pierce Brosnan, are always entertaining for kids as they are so fantastic. All in all this is a very enjoyable movie for the whole family even if the plot is a little confusing at times.

Sarah Palin Going Rouge – The Book
Sarah Palin has launched her book Going Rouge, and unlike her doomed Presidential election her campaign for this book has been more productive. Market analysts have suggested that her book Going Rouge could be the biggest best-seller of the year yet.

Sarah Palin is a heady mixture of celebrity status and a politician and her book campaigning across America has stunned even the most aggressive marketers in the country. She is also the smart beautiful politician who marked Barack Obama’s Presidency four out of ten!
People or worshipers of Sarah Palin waited outside the mall(where she would be signing book), braving rain and cold. Fans set up tents and chairs to camp outside the mall. All this for Palin’s signature on a book and an estimated 5 seconds each of face-time with their idol. People are amazing me more and more.
Sarah Palin’s Going Rouge book is her memoir. Palin called this book, “my words unfiltered by the media“.
